The elected Unity Council of the African Community Center seeks to stay informed of what is happening in our community and among our people. As it identifies important factors that need to be addressed by the Black Community at large, it may choose to speak out. When the Unity Council speaks out, the method is called "Voice and Recommendation" (V&R). A Voice and Recommendation from the Unity Council should include at least three elements: 1) state specifically what is being supported, apposed or called for; 2) state specifically why this "thing" is positive, negative or needed, and 3) state specifically what the community should do.
