Asafo Retreat: 2-15-2009

     Voice and Recommendation

We, the elected Unity Council of the African Community Centers for Unity and
Self-Determination/Atlanta, support the work of
Baba Cordell and the Roots to
Fruits Asafo Retreat.
We view this work as positive for our community and our
people for the following reasons:

1. This is a retreat for young African men ages 8 to 16 conducted every 2 weeks in a
learning and nurturing environment utilizing adult and elder African community builders
as influencing guides.
2. This activity gives those young men in attendance something to look forward to that
is positive and tailored to their specific needs as African young men.
3. This activity gives adult and elder African men a unique opportunity to influence
directly the growth and community stature of African young men in attendance.

We, the elected Unity Council of the African Community Centers for Unity and
Self-Determination/Atlanta recommend and strongly encourage that you as an
individual or organization do the following in support of the work of
Baba Cordell and
the Roots to Fruits Asafo Retreat

1.
Contact Baba Cordell at (678)-368-8593 or authorcawright@yahoo.com for
registration
2. Pass this information along to at least 2 families with young African Men ages 8-16
You can assist by donating needed supplies or by sponsoring a young African brother.

We, the elected Unity Council of the African Community Centers for Unity and
Self-Determination/Atlanta thank you in advance for your cooperation and support of
this voicing. Together we will always win.
